West LA Lacrosse is finishing its 7th year as a youth league for Boys and Girls with a regular season in the winter and more relaxed but very structured format in the summer. In our regular winter season, all Boys programs and the Youth Girls teams start in December and they finish in late February. Middle School Girls start in January and they play through May. We also have High School spring club teams - one for Boys, another for Girls - for players who do not otherwise have a team to play on.

At Duke in 2010, Ned Crotty was voted the nation's best mens lacrosse player. In February 2011, he came to Cheviot Hills Rec Center to give our players tips.

WEST LA LAX HELPS LONG BEACH, NY FOLLOWING THE DEVASTATION OF HURRICANE SANDY

West LA Lacrosse conducted a raffle to benefit the school district of Long Beach, New York, which was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.  Long Beach happens to be the hometown of three West LA coaches (they all coach the U13 Marines). Raffle tickets were sold and we raised $2,000 to help the school district of Long Beach, NY.  The raffle drawing took place on January 16 at Cheviot Hills Rec Center, when former Johns Hopkins star and current pro player Kyle Harrison pulled the winners after he conducted a clinic for the players (see photo below).

At Johns Hopkins in 2005, Kyle Harrison led his college team to the national championship and was voted the nation's best mens lacrosse player. In January 2013, he came to Cheviot Hills Rec Center to support our league's Hurricane Sandy fundraiser to benefit Long Beach, New York.

In the above photo, he explains the mechanics of shooting.
